Pricing questions
What are message tokens?+
Tokens measure how much AI work each reply takes — reading the visitor's question plus your knowledge, and writing the answer. A typical exchange uses roughly 2,000–4,000 tokens, so 5M tokens comfortably covers about 1,500–2,500 replies. Tokens reset on the 1st of each month.
What are knowledge tokens?+
They're used when Kelma processes your content — crawling your website, reading a PDF, or re-syncing after changes. One token is roughly 4 characters of text, so 1M knowledge tokens is about 4 million characters (hundreds of typical pages) per month.
What happens if I run out of tokens?+
Your widget stays on your site and politely tells visitors the assistant is taking a break. No scary errors, no surprise charges — upgrade or wait for the monthly reset.
Can I switch plans later?+
Yes, anytime from your billing portal. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades apply at the next renewal.
Why is no VAT charged?+
Prices are final — no VAT is added or charged: Kelma is operated by a person registered as exempt under article 11 of the Value Added Tax Act (Malta), VAT Reg No 3297-8402.
